    Position Summary:

    The Director of Women’s Services is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical leadership of Bozeman Health’s Women’s Service Line, which includes oversight of the Family Birth Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Women’s Clinics. This role is accountable for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care in alignment with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice. The Director leads the development and execution of service line goals, manages departmental resources, and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.

     

    This position also plays a key role in driving innovation, ensuring clinical staff are trained and supported in the adoption of emerging best practices. The Director partners with nursing leadership, educators, and providers to implement consistent standards of care and optimize the patient and family experience. As a senior leader, this role is responsible for cultivating a culture of excellence, mentoring and developing team members, promoting staff engagement, and advancing community relationships that support the growth and reputation of Women’s Services at Bozeman Health.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Required:

    + Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business or a Healthcare related field.

    + Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse).

    + Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

    + Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider certification.

    + Current certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).

    + Five (5) years of experience in women’s health patient care.

    + Three (3) years of healthcare leadership experience.

    + Current Bozeman Health Nursing Department employees that meet all required qualifications outside of the Master’s Degree may obtain a Master’s Degree in the abovementioned fields within three (3) years of position start.

    Preferred:

    + Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) through the National Certification Corporation (NCC).

    + Certification in Nursing Leadership through the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONE) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or relevant leadership fellowship.

    + Seven (7) years of experience in women’s health patient care.

    + Five (5) years of healthcare leadership experience.

     

    Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

     

    + Direct overall operations and hold 24/7 accountability across the Family Birth Center, NICU, and Women’s Clinics.

    + Assist in managing departmental functions to ensure comprehensive service delivery that complies with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

    + Promote a collaborative approach to operational planning, service design, and the development of organizational policies that align with the hospital’s mission.

    + Oversee and coordinate departmental services, continuously evaluating and improving performance metrics.

    + Manage departmental resources responsibly, demonstrating financial stewardship and operational efficiency.

    + Exhibit strong clinical, technical, and leadership competencies.

    + Ensure consistent application of organizational mission, values, and behavioral standards.

    + Mentor, develop, and evaluate staff performance to promote professional growth and high team engagement.

    + Develop and implement strategies to boost employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.

    + Lead and support quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and experience.

    + Support community outreach efforts and stakeholder engagement to expand service line visibility.

    + Competent in current and learns new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health.

    Schedule Requirements:

    + This role requires regular and sustained attendance.

    + The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

    + On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

    + Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and to read computer screens, printed materials, and handwritten materials.

    + Cognitive Skills (Continuously): Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.

    + Exposures (Continuously): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
