Quality Monitoring & Remediation Senior Associate

The Senior Associate, Quality Monitoring and Remediation (QMR) will work with key stakeholders across the firm to validate our understanding of our Audit & Assurance System of Quality Management (SoQM). This individual will assist in providing independent perspectives on risks to our SoQM and consider evolving response needs. Also, the Senior Associate will perform investigative analyses of various quality events to assist with performing root cause and monitoring remedial actions to enhance the Firm’s SoQM.
Your day to day may include:
+ Work with key stakeholders across the firm to understand quality risks, processes, and responses (firm policies and procedures) to ensure these are appropriately documented and tested
+ Assist in developing and executing monitoring plans
+ Assist in developing and presenting reports to various stakeholders regarding results and suggested improvements
+ Escalate issues to the Quality Management Compliance leadership or other relevant parties on known gaps or issues
+ Serve as a point of contact for a variety of System of Quality Management areas to aid in testing and issue management
+ Maintain active communication with process/response owners to manage expectations, complete testing, and monitor remediation efforts.
+ Consult and work with response/process owners to perform root cause analysis, develop recommendations on business/process improvements and serve as a risk and controls advisor
+ Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality regarding sensitive matters
+ Assist with creating training materials and a centralized resource center of established and approved content to support the ISQM (International Standard on Quality Management) 1 Testing Program
+ Other duties as assigned
You have the following technical skills, qualifications and abilities:
+ Current or prior COSO, external or internal audit, business risk or IT (Information Technology) controls experience
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and complete multiple tasks
+ A focus on strong client service and responsiveness
+ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
+ A minimum of 3+ years of progressive audit or advisory experience in medium to large public accounting firm or equivalent
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), preferred
+ Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), ISQM 1 and PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board) rules and standards.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Productivity Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, and SharePoint)
+ Experience using other tools such as Smartsheet or Power BI, desired

+ Benefits for internship positions: Grant Thornton interns are eligible to participate in the firm’s medical, dental and vision insurance programs and the firm’s employee assistance program.
