THE POSITION
Join us at the Department of Education and embark upon a challenging and rewarding new career opportunity as a Career and Technical Advisor 2 for Work Based Learning (Cooperative Education). In this vital role, you will have the opportunity to lead and direct statewide efforts to develop, improve, and expand career and technical education programs related to Work Based Learning (Diversified Occupations and Capstone Cooperative Education) programs as well as review statewide applications for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Join the Division of Program Standards and Quality Assurances to help assure a skilled workforce through high quality career and technical education.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
A Work Based Learning Advisor (Cooperative Education) leads the statewide development, maintenance, and implementation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, with a focus on Work-Based Learning (WBL) such as Diversified Occupations and Capstone Cooperative Education. Work involves providing expert guidance on policy development and recommendations for CTE clusters and WBL programs. You will analyze existing practices, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions and enhancements to various stakeholders, including students, educators, administrators, and industry leaders. This professional develops and maintains high-quality teacher preparation programs in collaboration with relevant agencies, providing leadership through workshops, conferences, and professional development to ensure effective CTE and WBL practices. You will have the opportunity to interpret federal, state, and local regulations and policies impacting CTE, particularly WBL programs. Key to this position is ensuring compliance and supporting the achievement of industry standards, academic standards, and performance measures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
+ This position requires statewide travel.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Staff is required to report to the office one day per week, but can be subject to change. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year as a Career and Technical Education Advisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ Five years of professional career and technical education experience including two years in the development and implementation of career and technical education curricula or programs;or
+ An equivalent combination of professional career and technical education experience and training, which includes two years in the development and implementation of career and technical education curricula or programs.
Other Requirements:
+ This particular position also requires applicants to possess a minimum of two years of full-time professional career and technical education experience in a 9-12 or postsecondary environment.
+ PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.
