THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is actively seeking a motivated Facility Operations Manager to support the maintenance and operation of Torrance State Hospital. In this role, you will help keep the hospital facilities throughout the complex in good working order for the safety and relaxation of our patients. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Facility Operations Manager 1, you will be responsible for the direction and supervision of the maintenance and transportation shop at Torrance State Hospital. Your duties will include supervising repairs and construction to buildings, assigning daily tasks to tradesmen, and making arrangements for work to be completed when regular use of hospital facilities will be interrupted. In this position, you will evaluate materials needed and submit orders for supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual work. You can expect to supervise the care and inventory of tools and equipment by maintaining accurate files, as well as instruct and train employees on proper use and care of equipment and tools. Additionally, you will institute and implement a safety program of everyday work habits and equipment and tool usage, as well as establish and enforce safety rules and regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Overtime and travel as needed
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facilities which includes one year of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations.
Special Requirements:
+ This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
