DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Custodial Worker 1, you will provide custodial care for institutional buildings, surrounding grounds, and public access areas. You will be responsible for general housekeeping duties including cleaning restrooms, guest quarters, hallways, and windows. You will also maintain an adequate linen and cleaning supply inventory by requisitioning orders monthly. This role requires using knowledge of equipment, cleaners, and sanitary procedures, as well as a genuine desire to maintain a safe and healthy environment for youth, staff, and visitors. In addition, you will f unction as lead worker by communicating work assignments to residents in the Work Training Program, participate in employee training programs, and adhere to federal, state and agency regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
+ Overtime and travel as needed
+ Free parking
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,523.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
+ You must be willing to accept employment at Loysville Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Perry County.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
+ A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
+ This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
+ Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
