    The Position

    The purpose of this role is to ensure the optimal operation of the Site by performing maintenance and repairs on buildings and facilities. This includes overseeing industrial instrumentation, process control systems, and electrical systems to guarantee safety and efficiency. The role is essential in sustaining a functional and compliant working environment.

     

    Relationships

     

    Reports to Manager.

    Essential Functions

    + Oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation equipment, ensuring systems are reliable and compliant with regulations

    + Provide project support and oversite, ensuring electrical and instrumentation aspects are properly considered and executed

    + Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment such as distributive control systems, PLC’s, process instrumentation, motors, motor controls, VFD’s, power distribution equipment

    + Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues, using systematic methods and root cause analysis

    + Support technical development, coach and train employees

    + Identify areas for improvement in electrical and instrumentation systems and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime

    + Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

    + Other accountabilities as assigned

    Physical Requirements

    Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear gloves . Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment . Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions while wearing FR rated clothing. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid drivers license. Ability to wear Arc Flash protection pursuant to NFPA 70E. Must successfully complete confined space entry training.

     

    Development Of People

     

    Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

    Qualifications

    + Associate degree in Engineering, Electrical Systems Technology, Industrial Systems or related field from an accredited college required, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial instrumentation, electrical construction and/or electrical maintenance work in a manufacturing organization required; pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred

    + In lieu of AS degree plus 3 years of experience, may consider a High School Diploma or (GED) with five (5) years of experience in industrial instrumentation, electrical construction and/or electrical maintenance work in a manufacturing organization, required; pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred

    + Minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory experience preferred

    + Working knowledge of applicable codes and ordinances required

    + Knowledge and experience in operations and maintenance, including Safe Work Practices, procedures and policies, system-wide operations and routine maintenance required

    + Ability to read and understand plant schematics, P&ID’s, I/O drawings, wiring and circuit diagrams, instructions, and procedures required

    + Ability to use necessary mechanical tools, power tools, and craft related equipment and test equipment required to perform the work required

    + Ability to drive a scissor lift, sit-down forklift, areal lift, and lull required

    + Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders required
