    Description

    Primary Function:

    The Burn Table Operator is primarily responsible for operating plasma or gas burning table equipment to cut and shape metal.

    Typical Duties:

    + Reads job descriptions to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

    + Positions workpiece; sets, stops, or guides pieces according to specifications.

    + Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.

    + Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

    Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

    + 1-4+ years' experience operating a plasma or gas burning table.

    + Previous crane operation experience preferred.

    + Ability to troubleshoot operating issues on burning equipment.

    + Ability to interpret drawings.

    + Abilit to perform work with minimal to no supervision with minimal errors.

    + Basic math skills.

    + Ability to read a tape measure.

    + Legible printing/ handwriting skills.
