Senior Engineering Technical Specialist

Position Summary:
Support the design, manufacture, maintenance and continuous improvement of DC Switchgear. This position does not allow for sponsorship or relocation assistance.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Maintain product standards and design basis
• Support Production regularly
• Read and interpret customer job specifications
• Create and Transmit drawings to production and customer.
• Provide technical assistance and expertise to manufacturing, striving for process improvements
and corrective actions.
• Interface with Sales, Project Management, Customers and Production for design improvements
with an emphasis on cost savings and reliability.
• Interface with Sales, Project Management, Customers and Production to solve quality issues.
• Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes and create solutions. Help to create
streamlined processes for varying tasks associated with the design and construction of DC
Switchgear and any other related products.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BSME, BSMET or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in design of switchgear
• Proficient in Inventor
• Able to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters and modify drawings
• Able to apply NEC, ANSI and other applicable standards as they apply
• Knowledge of welding practices, applications, and symbols
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Membership in professional standards organizations (ie: IEEE)
Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements:
• Basic computer skills using Oracle, Word, Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working & Environmental Conditions:
The employee typically performs duties in a normal office environment. There may be some work
in a manufacturing environment and exposure to the elements of our factory.
