Duties and Responsibilities
The MS Compliance Officer Ill is located in the Bureau of the Commercial Vehicles and Driver Services in the Commercial Driver Licenses CDL & Third-Party Testing Unit. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and self-disciplined. The MS Compliance Officer Ill will provide regulatory oversight through monitoring, site audits, technical assistance and compliance enforcement for Commercial Driver Licenses (CDL) Third Party Administrators and Third-Party Testers within an assigned area of the state. This position will be responsible for inspecting operations and records of CDL third party administrators/testers to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and administrative rules.

+ Ability to compose written correspondence, policies and procedures and various reports
+ Skill in evaluating and monitoring third party testers for compliance with regulatory requirements
+ Skill in operating a personal computer
+ Skill in providing customer service to internal and external customers
+ Skill in auditing, reviewing or analyzing data for compliance with regulatory requirements
+ Ability to work independently
+ Knowledge of Driver License and Motor Vehicle laws, policies and procedures
+ Ability to make sound, well-informed and objective decisions and assist in resolving problems
Preferred Qualifications
+ Professional experience interpreting or applying laws (regulations, statutes administrative
Code)
+ Reviewing and verifying information.
+ Preference will be given to applicants who have a commercial driver's license; preference will also be given to applicants who have experience/skills conducting inspections/audits, performing road tests, training/advising others on testing procedures, statutes and/or rules, etc. regarding commercial vehicles.
Job-Related Requirements
+ This position is located in Miami-Dade and Broward County area, the incumbent must currently reside in this area or be willing to relocate to this area. In addition, the incumbent must be willing to work at the office locate established.
+ This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a Valid Driver's License in good standing. A driver's license history review will be conducted on all candidates in consideration for the position. The applicant selected for this position will also be required to travel daily to various counties as well as occasional overnight travel.
+ The applicant selected will be required to administer inspections a minimum of 1-2 times a week for a period of 2-3 hours during which time the employee will be required to stand, kneel and bend to view specified items located under a commercial motor vehicle, and get in and out of all size commercial motor vehicles. In addition, the applicant will be required to administer road tests in all types of weather, including rain, hot and cold weather.
+ The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
General Information
+ The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
+ Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
+ FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
