• Optical Network Engineer

    Required Education/Experience

    + Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and a minimum of (3) years of IT experience or

    + Associate's Degree Bachelor's Degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and a minimum of (5) years of IT experience or

    + High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of (7) years of IT experience

    Relevant Work Experience

    + Strong working knowledge of Passive, active OADM & ROADM DWDM systems Required

    + Broad understanding of optical theory, transport technologies and the operation of optical transport systems including SONET, TDM, DWDM, and Microwave Required

    + Evaluating new technologies, standard network design and management Required

    + Understanding of cyber security principles Required

    + Preferred familiarity with Cisco NCS2006 / 15454 MSTP / 15454 MSPP / and Cisco EPNM application Required

    + Background or working knowledge of Radio Frequency communications and basic understanding of the Federal Communications Commission Required

    Skills and Abilities

    + Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments

    + Excellent collaboration and team building skills

    + Strong verbal communication and listening skills

    Licenses and Certifications

    + Other: Personal Vehicle Required

    + Driver's License Required

    Physical Demands

    + Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds

    + Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday

    + Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday

    + Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workday

    + Ability to read small print and symbols

    Additional Physical Demands

    + Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.

    + Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, gloves, and safety shoes when required
