    Job Summary and Description:

    This position requires a high level of professionalism and competent application of appropriate advising procedures in a confidential and ethical manner in accordance with EPRI’s code of conduct standards, and USCIS immigration requirements.

     

    The Employee Relations and Immigration Partner plays an integral role in providing employment-related guidance and support to management. Their main responsibilities will be to prevent and resolve problems or disputes and assist in creating and enforcing policies in the workplace. The incumbent will be in charge of records retention, immigration, employee resource groups, employee relations and will conduct and ensure effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

     

    This position requires outstanding advising skills with minimum supervision. Therefore, the Employee Relations and Immigration Partner must be self-initiated, detail-oriented and excellent in time management skills. Teamwork is essential and the partner is expected to provide staff support and coaching to maintain a high level of service and competency.

     

    **Key Responsibilities** _(include but not limited to)_

    Employee Relations

    + Review and update investigation process

    + Oversee the internal investigation process

    + Conduct assigned investigations and tract investigation progress through to completion

    + In partnership with the Chief Human Resources Officer and the legal team facilitate complaint resolution

    + Partner with the compliance committee to effectively coordinate and report on investigations

    + Develop training, provide consultation and support to sectors/divisions in a variety of employee relations/complaint areas to reduce future complaints and liability

    + Assist in process improvements related to complaint investigations

    + Contribute, promote, and maintain a high level of work ethic and peer support within the HR team

    Immigration

    + Provide immigration support to external and internal stakeholders across all business units and escalate as needed

    + Assist with required immigration postings online and on-site, including tracking, filing and record-keeping

    + Collect and provide to EPRI’s immigration lawyers all documents and information supporting employees’ immigration petitions

    + Maintain knowledge of all immigration requirements, including USCIS/DOL compliance documents

    + Coordinate with HR and external immigration lawyers to design all processes and maintain track of all work visa and permanent residence cases’ status

    + Respond to USCIS site visits

    + Review immigration applications and maintain employees’ records and reports

    + Create, organize, and maintain electronic documents, databases and file systems for audit compliance and tracking support

    + Monitor terminations report to initiate petition withdrawal requests of terminated staff

    + Collaborate with HR and the legal teams to anticipate and resolve all immigration issues

    Employee Resource Groups & Employee Engagement

    + Strategic insights with operational expertise in designing, implementing, and improving employee resource groups programs that support all employees

    + Partner with EPRI’s Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) to facilitate their strategic and tactical roadmap and activities

    + Promote ERGs’ initiatives and communicate to employees

    + Maintain a strong awareness of ERGs issues and trends

    + Advise on ERGs policies and best practices

    Key Competencies

    + Ability to coordinate and lead complex cross-functional projects given multiple competing priorities

    + Demonstrate ability to work within a framework of multiple principles and guidelines and the ability to apply professional judgement in situations where clear direction is unavailable and/or interpretation is required

    + Strong organizational skills with an ability to handle heavy caseloads, handle multiple tasks, manage crisis, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

    + Demonstrate ability to provide a mature, competent, collaborative, and professional presence while working with HR, the legal team, EPRI staff and external stakeholders

    + Strict attention to details

    + Outstanding analytical skills

    + Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

    + Solution/Result driven with the ability to assess risks

    Education, Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

    + Master’s degree in human resources, public administration, or law

    + Superior research skills, verbal, and written communication skills,

    + Ability to communicate with a diverse audience in different locations

    + Proven project management skills, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management.

    + Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS and database applications.

    + An international experience will be beneficial

    Experience

    + Knowledge of US immigration laws, policies, regulations

    + Knowledge of the immigration visa process, including PERM, I-140 and AOS

    + Understanding of nonimmigrant classifications (i.e.., H1B, F1, TN, L1, J1 and O1)

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in U.S. business immigration experience in a Law firm or corporate environment

    + 3 years in employee relations

    + Training and/or on the job experience in employee relations/complaint or investigations

    + Experience in providing advice and support to senior executives

     

    The salary range for this position is $125,000 USD to $135,000 USD annually.

     

    This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

     

    This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.

     

    This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).

     

    EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.
