Responsibilities
The Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst is responsible for providing cyber threat intelligence insights and will work closely with security operations and vulnerability management teams to assess threats and potential exposure in a highly collaborative, fast paced, and agile fashion. As a member of the Amcor Cyber Security Organization, a candidate can expect to apply their technical expertise to security threat detection and response in a variety of ways and will be a core resource for the team in better understanding the threatscape and the best proactive defensive measures.
Cyber intelligence analysts utilize threat intelligence to mitigate potential threats and defend their organization. The ability to communication with internal stakeholders as well as external sources of threat insights is key. Collection and processing of threat intelligence data including indicators of compromise, threat actor information, and internal event data will enhance detection and response capabilities. It is important that the data is reviewed, and additional context provided, such as, severity, confidence level, source, date, count of indicator, and if it is known to be associated with any suspicious activity.
• Develop intelligence strategies against threats facing the organization
• Develop and deliver threat intelligence reports to technical and executive staff
• Distinguish and track cyber threat groups, focusing on methodology and capability
• Investigate and integrate internal and external intelligence sources and feeds into other information security groups
• Curate intelligence feed sources and Indicator of Compromise validation for confidence level
• Develop collaborative relationships with intelligence providers
• Develop meaningful intelligence tools and capabilities
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or Intelligence related field and/or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years working in Cyber Security with experience in Security Operations Centers, Incident Response, Cyber Intelligence, or similar functions
• Previous experience supporting cyber intelligence functions
• Experience with threat intelligence lifecycle, threat actor attribution, and threat mitigation
• Tactical, operational, and strategic knowledge of the cyber threat landscape to include different types of adversaries, campaigns, and motivations
• Ability to correlate internal and external intelligence
• Knowledge of industry recognized security and analysis frameworks (Mitre ATT&CK, Kill Chain, Diamond Model, NIST Incident Response, etc.)
• Ability to query and build intelligence watchlists for proactive monitoring and correlation of internal log data
• Experience with industry Threat Intelligence Platform (Anomali, Flashpoint, etc.)
• Leverage internal and external sources to develop security tools and methods to identify and mitigate threats
• Strong communication (both verbal and written) with experience briefing corporate executives and professionals
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a high level of analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic demand-based environment
