Salary Range: $50.00 - $50.00 Hourly

Role and Responsibilities

Direct, supervise, evaluate and provide speech therapy services to patients in the home , as prescribed by the attending physician.

Essential Functions

+ Evaluate the patient’s speech, language and voice, and swallowing abilities according to referral and perform periodic reevaluation.

+ Develop and implement rehabilitative services for speech, language and voice, and swallowing disorders.

+ Select and administer diagnostic tests and provide appropriate therapeutic techniques and materials.

+ Record the type of treatment and patient’s reaction to it on the clinical/progress notes.

+ Maintain adequate records on all of the patients, including summary reports.

+ Instruct and educate family members and patient , regarding treatment plan and therapy carry-over.

+ Attend case conferences.

+ Participate in the development of and periodic revision of the physician’s plan of care.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

+ Bac helor’s degree and Master ’ s degree in S peech P athology .

+ Must have "Certificate of Clinical Competency" from an accredited institution.

Qualifications and Requirements

+ Current , valid l icense issued by NYS Department of Education .

Work Environment

The Speech Language Pathologist is primarily a non-office setting and may be exposed to outdoor conditions.

The working conditions are classified as light work:

+ Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Light work involves sitting most of the time.
