    The Senior Director, PD Business Excellence is accountable for the development and roll out of key workstreams and processes that will support the acceleration of project delivery within the Engineering & Property Services Organization. This role will directly work with DRIs across five distinct E&PS Excellence Workstreams within PD, and support the implementation standards, processes and systems that will transform the ability of PD to execute capital projects.

    This role is responsible for overseeing the efforts of five distinct workstreams within the overall PD Excellence effort:

    + Process Excellence - Developing and implementing processes to improve how major capital projects are funded and ensuring that effective cross-functional team structures are in place from project inception. Update the IDEA Project Delivery Process to reflect current ways of working. Ensuring the resulting changes/updates are reflected in the IDEA process documentation and training materials. Implementing a continuous improvement framework to maintain the sustainability of the IDEA Process.

    + Innovative Partnerships. Continue to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key supplier partners spanning Engineering, Construction, C&Q. PM, Construction Safety and key infrastructure equipment (e.g., Chilled Water, Boilers / Steam, Compressed Air, Electrical, Purified Water, Air Handling, BMS)

    + Predictive Analytics.Enhancing the ability of PD to estimate, track, report on and manage risk of project cost, cash flow and schedules.

    + PD Digital Engineering.Development and roll out of tools, systems, platforms, and processes that will support the acceleration of project delivery and overall digital excellence of our facilities within the Engineering & Property Services Organization.

    + Onboarding and Training.Developing a comprehensive PD-specific curriculum to enhance the onboarding and training experience for new E&PS PD employees.Manage the continued development and training of PD Processes and Standards.

     

    The overall goal of the role is to elevate J&J to become the industry benchmark on end-to-end project development and delivery.

     

    A suitable candidate for this role will have experience with main E&PD activities, including, but not limited to, Project Delivery, Engineering and Standards Development, Project Controls and Construction Safety, as well as project delivery knowledge and expertise.

     

    Key role relationships require collaboration with regional/corporate E&PS teams, sector representatives, and other corporate J&J functions to effectively implement operational and governance related aspects across E&PS scope.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Serve as single point of contact (SPOC) regarding PD Business Excellence.

    + Develop and manage multi-year PD Excellence strategy portfolio and roadmap.

    + Work directly with individual initiative DRIs to develop, prioritize and execute a comprehensive set of improvement initiatives.

    + Propose, oversee, and manage projects related to the PD Business Excellence, including tracking costs, assessing resource requirements, and achieving deadline requirements.

    + Coordinate closely with J&J business sectors and global functions to gain input to and alignment with the PD Excellence recommendations including, as required, commitment to funding and resources.

    + Collaborate with key functional stakeholders and organizations (e.g., Finance, JJT, Procurement, EHS, etc.), business partners and system suppliers to establish an effective line of communication and collaboration between E&PS, J&J sectors, J&J functions, and external suppliers.

    + Identify, with the support of JJT, benchmark technology solutions capable of delivering the E&PD Technology strategy in the most cost efficient and suitable manner.

    + Promote and facilitate the development of analytic tools to optimize E&PS performance monitoring and reporting capabilities.

    + Deliver a standardized and balanced approach to PD Business Excellence governance and reporting.

    + Effectively work with PD senior leaders to communicate the status and progress of the PD Business Excellence effort to the E&PS LT and other key stakeholders

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field including, but not limited to Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant field required.

    + Multiple and/or elevated degree(s) preferred.

    Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

    Required:

    + Minimum of 10 years of related experience across the capital project spectrum is required.

    + Minimum of 5 years of related project management experience is required.

    + Experience in E&PS business related systems/tools such as SharePoint, Data Storage Platforms, Autodesk Products, MS Project, Project Management Processes and/or Property Management Tools.

    + Solid project management skills, proven organization, coordination, and action tracking skills; including project management processes, tools, and methodologies.

    + Strong business acumen and relationship building skills; strong business case development and presentation skills.

    + An ability to effectively partner and deliver results in a matrixed environment.

    + An ability to effectively present to and communicate with senior leadership.

    + An ability to adapt emerging standard methodologies and industry innovations to E&PS business needs.

    + Ability to function effectively and multitask when presented with tight deadlines.

    + Excellent technical and analytical skills.

    + Deep understanding of our E&PS infrastructure and business-related operations.

    Preferred:

    + Experience building strategic relationships with internal and external project partners and stakeholders.

    + Global experience of J&J with respect to E&PS and business partner interaction.

    + Experience managing complex workstreams, specifically across geographically dispersed teams.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    **Travel Requirements:** This position will require up to 25% domestic and international travel

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    173,000.00 --- 299,000.00 USD Annual

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
