Custom Job Purpose:

Assists in the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising through providing support to help build, secure, sustain, and continually improve the fundraising and community awareness efforts of the PEF. Under the direction of the Senior Director, assist in the implementation of campaigns such as annual employee giving, end of the year giving, capital campaigns and a strategic plan to fundraise which may include major gifts, corporate donations, individual gifts, sponsorships, grant solicitation, and in-kind resources.

Essential Functions of this Job

Assist the Senior Director in fulfilling the elements of a comprehensive a fundraising plan to include elements such as an annual giving campaign, employee giving, sponsorships, individual gifts and planned gifts, with a focus on stewardship and retention. Donor database management to include capturing contact information of all special event attendees, grantors, individual and corporation gifts. Maintain financial donations in the donor database with accurate records and reports given including donors' interests, activities, donations, and stewardship contacts. Ensure fulfillment of individual and sponsor recognition and benefits for special events. Coordinate receipt and sponsor fulfillment for special events, annual and capital campaign activity.. Generate thank-you, acknowledgement letters to donors. Assist with the development and preparation of materials for board/committee meetings, donor meetings, and other communications. Establish and maintain a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure that current and new donors are developed and have opportunities to increase their level of support and enjoy a close relationship with the agency. Work with the Senior Director to help analyze the return on investment for all fundraising activity annually.

Help manage and oversee the details of fundraising events, including but not limited to the oversight of event specifics, recruiting volunteers and fulfilling sponsor benefits. Work with the Senior Director to help to help analyze the return on investment for all fundraising events.

In the Senior Director's absence, represent Polk Education Foundation in community; attend functions to network and represent the Foundation to help expand its county-wide outreach efforts. Maintain ongoing public relations and marketing/social media activities to promote the overall mission of the Foundation. In the Senior Director's absence, network and attend civic business and social events to promote the Polk Education Foundation and Polk County Public Schools.

Non-Essential Functions of this Job

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Fundraising campaign coordination, individual and corporate donor and sponsorship fulfillment and stewardship, and fundraising event organization. Knowledge of federal and state legislation affecting charities and non-profit laws. Ability to communicate and coordinate with those in our local community including individuals, business community and civic organizations, the PEF Board and PCSB. Ability to express oneself clearly, especially in written communication for solicitation requests and promotions. A minimum three years fundraising or community engagement experience preferred. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum three years experience in successful fundraising coordination, annual giving, special events planning and/or community engagement preferred.

Work Context:

Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with internal and external contacts, and with the public.

Physical Environment:

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
