In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for patients. The Pharmacy Techs Supervisor manages the daily operations of the Pharmacy Technicians at the assigned site. He / She independently plans, supervise and assist with the day-to-day activities of the non-pharmacist STAFFnd duties.
Your Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• ACPE accredited IV certification (required)
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) registration (required)
• PTCB certification (preferred)
• Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, patients, and family members
• Able to handle stressful situations and make decisions in a timely manner
• Able to maintain effective working relationships
• Able to organize work and work area with time constraints in a fast-paced environment
• Able to professionally and effectively communicate (orally and in writing)
• Able to work safely and willing to comply with special safety and health precautions
• Coordination of mental and manual dexterity for sustained period of time is necessary components of the job
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to concentrate mental and visual attention closely to work
• Work experience: 5 + years of Pharmacy experience required
• Work experience: 5 + years hospital pharmacy experience require.
Your Job Responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes, and supervises the operations of all activities relative to pharmacy technician staffing.
• Directly supervises Pharmacy Technicians with authority to recommend corrective actions for performance or behavioral issues
• Oversee and provide adequate training for all new technician employees and additional training for current employees as needed.
• Includes development of formal training/orientation schedule with checklist for each service area
• Maintains technician annual competencies (IV Lab, Chemo, Aseptic Technique).
• Development of competency checklist by service area
• Provides input into revising of technician job duties
• Schedule employees to include time off requests and ensures that shift(s) are staffed
• Trains employees on their day-to-day duties
• Reinforces and monitors performance expectations
• Develops collaborative working relationships with Pharmacists, Nurses and other Medical staff
• Ensures Pharmacy is staffed cost-effectively and within department staffing budget
• Ensures that services are provided in a timely, accurate, effective, and cost-effective manner and in compliance with established policies and procedures and regulatory agencies
• Coordinates, leads, and participates in staff education activities
• Assists management in preparation and communication of information to STAFFt mandatory staff meetings and as necessary
• Assists with coordination of required educational efforts and ongoing staff training
• May help identify and provide opportunities for staff to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to contribute to the success of the department
• May coordinate and administer special projects as assigned Initiates medication error reports as necessary, provides input and follow-up in a timely manner
• Responsible for interviewing Pharmacy Technician candidates; recommends candidates to Director of Pharmacy for hire
• Oversee and provide pharmacy meetings on a monthly basis or as often as needed
