Position Summary Information
Position Summary
Assistant Director is responsible for managing the processing and maintaining data and reports according to education department guidelines relating to various Title IV programs. The role manages the day-to-day operations and duties of student workers and serves as a backup to the Director in their absence.

Major Responsibilities
+ Counsels new and returning students and families on financing their education.
+ Creates, edits and maintains student financial aid files.
+ Export Federal loan and grant information to COD (Common Origination & Disbursement)
+ Imports Federal loan and grant information, prom notes, booking notices, credit overrides, PLUS applications, entrance and exit counseling.
+ Performs VA certification, reconciliation and advising for students on all Utica campuses.
+ Reviews, confirms and communicates financial aid packages to students.
+ Packages returning (continuing) main campus students.
+ Reviews discrepancies and adjust loan records as needed.
+ Performs reviews of verification documents for all populations chosen for verification. Repackages students according to new SAI based on verification outcome.
+ Repackages student aid and updates files based on data received.
+ Reviews and updates paper and email correspondence relating to Financial Aid, including but not limited award letters, verification and appeals as needed.
+ Assists with annual reviews and/or creates forms, letters and Banner Flags to adhere to Federal, State and Institutional guidelines.
+ Assists with annual build work for all Banner and CampusLogic StudentForms functions including Verification, C flags and loan requirements.
+ Runs and works discrepancy lists to ensure accurate data.
+ Informs and updates staff on processing guidelines and procedures.
+ May perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree required.
+ 1-3 years of experience in financial aid, banking, student lending or similar setting required.
+ Supervisory experience with employees or student workers is preferred.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
+ Must have excellent communication skills.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word and Excel required.
+ Ellucian Banner, CampusLogic Suite, and EAB Suite experience preferred.
