Description
SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Ensure compliance with the generally accepted accounting principles
+ Ensure that internal controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected
+ Develop policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. and train on the company’s accounting procedures
+ Coordinate work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records
+ Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns (incl Local) taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes
+ Insurance reports, census surveys, and other reports required by government regulation
+ Oversee and manage the 401(k) administration
+ Supervise the Accounting Manager directly and indirectly supervise the accounting/finance, payroll, and claims departments
+ Responsible for our corporate banking relationship
+ Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
+ Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
+ Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
+ Responsible for overseeing month end closing
+ Oversee the creation budgets upon request for new sites, RFP’s, renewals, and changes
+ Advise Senior Management and Members of the Board on matters of fiscal importance for the organization
+ Responsible for multi company consolidations
+ Responsible for overseeing our risk management and corporate insurance programs
+ Responsible for overseeing our fleet management program
+ Responsible for leading the Finance committee meeting
+ Any and all other duties as assigned

TRAINING EXPECTATIONS:
Associates in this role are expected, as a condition of employment, to complete all training assigned within a reasonable time period, generally within less than 15 days.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This is a supervisory position. This position does have the authority to hire, fire, discipline, discharge, assign overtime, and/or direct and assign work, with the ability to effectively recommend any of these actions. This role also serves as a coach and mentor for other employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is not a hybrid, telecommute or remote role. This role is 100% in-office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
This position rarely requires travel.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Overall Business Experience – 10+ years required (15+ preferred)
+ Undergraduate Degree – Business/Finance/Accounting required
+ MBA – preferred
+ Public accounting background/CPA preferred
+ Managerial experience required (5 to 10 years)
+ Monthly/Quarterly/Annual close experience (5+ years), public accounting experience can take the place of required 5 to 10 years
+ Experience working with information technology and proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word required
+ Budgeting/Forecasting/Cash Flow Reporting experience required (5 to 10 years)
+ Treasury function experience required (insurance, tax, etc.) (3 to 5 years)
+ Strong presentation skills required
+ Non-finance experience (business operations, sales, etc.) a plus
+ Public company experience (a plus)
+ IPO experience (a plus)
+ Healthcare experience preferred
