Job Description Summary
The Production Control Technician is primarily responsible for monitoring material inventories, packaging finished goods, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring timely customer deliveries. This role involves close coordination with various departments, including production, quality, and supply chain, to maintain optimal inventory levels, manage packaging processes, and ensure that products are delivered to customers on schedule. The Production Control Technician plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that products meet quality standards and delivery timelines.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Monitor and manage material inventories to ensure the availability of necessary components for production.
+ Oversee the packaging of finished goods, ensuring that products are prepared for shipment according to quality standards.
+ Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
+ Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.
+ Track and report on inventory levels, packaging activities, and delivery schedules.
+ Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the production and packaging processes.
+ Utilize production control software and tools to manage and optimize inventory and workflow.
+ Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory and delivery issues and implement process improvements.
+ Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, packaging activities, and customer deliveries.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements within the processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 1+ years of experience in production control, inventory management, or a related role; OR associate degree or technical certification in a related field (Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management etc.)
+ Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Ability to operate equipment/machinery utilized to move material.
+ Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to act autonomously with minimal supervision.
Desired Characteristics:
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
+ Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
+ Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
+ Proficiency in production control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
