The University of Washington (UW) Boise Internal Medicine Residency in collaboration with the UW Disability Services Office (DSO) and the UW Office of Graduate Medical Education seeks a full-time (100% FTE) **Program Assistant (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)** employee to provide direct accommodation services for a resident physician in Boise, Idaho. This includes but is not limited to the tasks listed below.
Applicants must have a strong understanding of medical anatomy and terminology, and medical training sufficient to follow instructions to complete physical maneuvers necessary for patient examination. We are seeking candidates who are resourceful, reliable, engaged, professional, and have relevant experience working with patients.

Job Hours, Location & Supervision
Full-time; Specific time of day and hours per week vary based on the resident physician’s schedule which includes days, nights, weekdays, and weekends. This position is located in Boise, Idaho and will report to the UW Boise Internal Medicine Residency Assistant Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Attend all clinical activities to which the resident physician is assigned; arrive early when needed.
+ Receive and interpret instructions verbally and/or electronically.
+ Assist resident physician in accessing reports, values, findings, or imaging as part of patient care.
+ Assist resident physician in gathering appropriate supplies for patient encounters.
+ Assist resident physician in navigating infrastructure of the healthcare facility and patient room (e.g., opening doors) as needed, moving furniture/equipment, making space for the resident to perform duties and to enable direct access to their patient.
+ Assist resident physician with maneuvering and positioning patient during a physical exam.
+ Assist resident physician by handing them their adaptive examination equipment when performing physical exams.
+ Under verbal direction of resident physician, perform directed physical maneuvers and/or assist resident physician with performing medical examinations, including but not limited to:o Head and neck examination including oto/ophthalmoscope placement.o Cardiac examination, including stethoscope placement.o Pulmonary examination, including stethoscope placement and percussion.o Abdominal examination, including percussion.o Extremity (arms and legs) examination.o Lymph node palpation.o Neurological examination, including muscle strength testing.
+ Assist resident physician with donning and doffing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
+ Assist resident physician with preparing for procedures, gowning, and other sanitizing requirements.
+ Assist resident physician in performing other clinical duties as directly requested by the resident physician, residency program director, or attending physician. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ High school graduation or equivalent.
+ Two years of full-time clerical experience or equivalent education/experience. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform physical maneuvers required in a complete physical examination.
+ Ability to collaborate with staff and work one-on-one with resident physician.
+ Ability to follow and give instructions with attention to detail.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Competency in working with a diverse population.
+ Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
+ Ability to work independently and in a team setting. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ At least six months of medical training or medical experience.
+ Experience working with adults with disabilities.
+ Knowledge of assistive technologies for persons with disabilities.
+ Pattern of excellent attendance and punctuality in prior positions.
