Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OC/CE/PACIFIC FIELD COMMAND - INFRA & SERVICES DIVISION (ORG PC41). Responsibilities Provide Defense Switched Network (DSN) and Enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol (EVoIP), network field support through coordination, troubleshooting, and on-site assistance visits when required. Define, plan, and manage the installation and fielding of new or relocation of existing equipment. Develop support policies and procedures to ensure quality installations are obtained at the highest possible customer satisfaction. Ensure that supported commands are appraised of on-going DISN and DODIN improvement plans and programs enabling the customers to capitalize on these improvements. Meets with customers and technical personnel to define user requirements and determine the most efficient means of accomplishing objectives and resolving technical issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis. OR Specialized Experience: Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in installation, maintenance and testing of transmission media and switching systems in a telecommunication technology environment and Project management to include developing plans and negotiations.
