Job Summary
The Nucleus Institute is Utah’s collaborative engine for innovation, commercialization, and impact. The Nucleus Institute is a new entity, created by the state of Utah, to connect higher education, industry, and government. The Nucleus Institute achieves this through shared commercialization services, investment funding, student-powered projects, a policy innovation lab, state-wide events, and the creation of an innovation campus at The Point in Draper.
The Marketing, PR, and Events Coordinator position is designed for a dynamic, highly organized, and innovative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively engage constituents across industry, academia, and government.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team member with excellent communication (both written and verbal), organization, graphic design skills, event planning, and demonstrated multitasking skills.
Responsibilities
Marketing
+ Position the Nucleus Institute as the premier innovation organization for the State of Utah.
+ Manage Nucleus and Utah Innovation Fund websites by collaborating with marketing firms as needed, and keeping website up to date at all times.
+ Create and distribute newsletters as needed for Nucleus and the Utah Innovation Fund.
+ Create and post engaging social media content, interact with appropriate entities and maintain an active social media presence.
+ Coordination with marketing firms and external vendors as needed.
+ Create and update slide decks, one pagers and other collateral.
+ Branding of new programs and initiatives.
PR
+ Draft and publish press releases through relevant media outlets
+ Monitor public perception and engagement, Identifying potential issues or areas for improvement
+ Engage stakeholders across academia, government, and industry
+ Build relationships with media outlets
+ May act as a spokesperson on behalf of The Nucleus Institute
Events Coordinator
+ Plan, organize, and execute on a variety of events ranging from local to statewide initiatives.
+ Manage events from ideation through execution.
+ Develop programming and schedules.
+ Manage invites for attendees and presenters/speakers.
+ Create and manage event budgets, ensure billing and payment accuracy.
+ Source and select appropriate venues.
+ Day-of event coordination.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, business, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in a related field will be considered (1 year of education is equivalent to 2 years of experience).
+ 4+ years of experience in a related field.
