Responsibilities Serves as the HR Front Desk Assistant and is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to all customers, both internal and external. This position supports the HR department and assists by performing a variety of clerical duties in support of personnel work. Serves as the first point of contact in HR for customers and ensures that the front desk operates smoothly. Assists with reference checks, entering HR data into computer system, communicating information to applicants, employees and supervisors, explaining HR processes in an appropriate and correct manner, ensures information is correct, organizes and maintains employee files, collaborates with coworkers to resolve issues, completes work timely and accurately, analyzes and audits data as needed. Provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources office and staff by performing a variety of administrative functions; including but not limited to greeting and assisting customers, answers and directs phone calls and emails to appropriate HR staff, handles inquiries related to job vacancies and application status and may prepare various personnel reports and statistics related to assigned functions. Handles diverse and confidential information requiring extreme accuracy. Provides Customer Service to both internal and external customers, with an emphasis on professionalism and workplace etiquette. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of administrative experience. May substitute education for experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely over the phone and to deal with customers. Ability to prioritize tasks, escalating issues if needed. Must have the ability to listen and understand information presented, interacting well with others and with a diverse audience. Must be able to maintain Confidentiality within the HR department.
