SAIC is seeking a highly motivated System Engineer (SE) to join our team and propel the organization forward in supporting a large IT Enterprise contract located in one of five locations: WMA, TX, GA, HI, and/or AK. Contract award is expected in September 2025 with a start in October 2025.
A System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems to include hardware and software. Responsibilities include deriving and analyzing system requirements, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring systems are efficient, secure, and meet business objectives. The SE ensures systems compliance and supports security certification. The ideal SE will also be responsible for performing implementation and technology studies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Participates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems.
+ Understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development team.
+ Skill areas include Telecommunication (TCP/IP, OIS/CMIP/X25), operating systems (Windows, UNIX, and Linux), database/DBMS (Oracle, MS Access, Sybase) and applications (Tivoli, PeopleSoft).
+ Applies principles of ITIL, SEI/CMM to engineering work and provides technical project management to engineering teams and projects.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
+ Experience as a systems engineer on one or more IT platforms.
Level IV:
+ Bachelor's degree with at least eight (8) years of relevant experience. May substitute Associate's degree with at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
+ Requires DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level I certification, and Computing Environment (CE) Certification.
+ The CE certification requirements can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications.
Level V:
+ Bachelor's degree with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience. May substitute Associate's degree with at least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
+ Requires DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level II certification, and Computing Environment (CE) Certification.
+ The CE certification requirements can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
