The **LRS HAZMART Manager** shall be responsible for ensuring all hazardous materials used on the installation are properly authorized and tracked in the EESOH-MIS system. Warehouse operations require proper storage of all hazardous materials (HM) in assigned locations. The LRS HAZMART Manager’s responsibilities include proper chemical segregation, shelf-life monitoring, ensuring proper storage of hazardous material and providing Monthly and Quarterly Status Reports.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure all HM is properly tracked in the Enterprise Environmental, Safety & Occupational Health-Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) with proper data entry and material is labeled with appropriate material control barcodes/labels.
+ Direct activities related to the receipt and issue of HM from the LRS Supply warehouse and other procurement resources, as well as excess serviceable material from various sources for the Free Issue program.
+ Provide EESOH-MIS functions for LRS HAZMART support.
+ Ensure issuing of HM, as directed by customer request, is performed in an expeditious manner.
+ Validate authorizations prior to issuing hazardous materials.
+ Maintain compliance with all USAF, federal, state, and local hazardous material and hazardous waste regulations related to operation of the HAZMART along with logistics requirements.
+ Ensure accurate locating and segregating of incompatibles.
+ Manage inventories of assigned warehouse storage by validating inventory accuracy.
+ Conduct warehouse hazardous material assessment to ensure compliance.
+ Receive empty HM containers or tracking labels from customers and properly disposes of containers and closing out tracking labels after paperwork is processed.
+ Ensure maintenance of a clean and neat warehouse at all times.
+ Manage and monitor the shelf-life of HM and extends as required in accordance with (IAW) current directives.
+ Manage expired or unserviceable hazardous materials to ensure they are properly removed from inventory and turned in as waste.
+ Conduct hazardous material shop assessments to ensure program compliance.
+ Assist in obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) information.
+ Assist customers with the hazmat authorization process.
+ Promote pollution prevention initiatives.
+ Create and provide Monthly and Quarterly Status Reports
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Associate degree in Logistics, Environmental Sciences OR
+ Minimum two (2) years of related hazardous material work experience.
+ Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience managing multiple employees.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Experience successfully managing operations for the federal government.
+ Knowledge of hazardous material storage requirements.
+ Knowledge and understanding of Hazardous Material, Hazardous Waste and Pollution Prevention programs.
+ Knowledge and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
+ Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and neat work environment at all times.
+ Ability to accomplish all tasks associated with contract operations.
+ Ability to obtain a forklift license.
+ Display a Total Customer Service attitude.
+ Air Force logistics experience a preferred.
