    Intermediate Network Engineer

    Our Network Enterprise Services (NES) team is seeking an experienced network professional with a strong background in routing, switching, and cybersecurity. Across a nearly 3.400 square mile footprint, our team oversees the planning, design, installation, maintenance, and support of communications infrastructure for IT, OT, wireless, and data center networks, along with their reliability and performance. NES also manages communications security technologies, including firewalls and VPNs. In this role, you will configure, install, deploy, and manage IT and OT access routers and switches, wireless controllers and access points, and network security devices for the entire organization. You will have the opportunity to be part of several network projects, including an upgrade to the next generation of Software Defined Networking in two onsite data centers, and a network security architecture change.

     

    What will you be doing?

     

    + High emphasis on implementing network access requests for users and systems

    + Configuring and supporting Ethernet-based internal and external network connections and interfaces, and developing and maintaining network configuration management applications

    + Troubleshooting network performance issues, and creating and maintaining network availability management processes and techniques

    + Monitoring and analyzing the organization-wide communications system performance to ensure high-quality transmission

    + Performing network installations and configurations

    + Testing and validating circuits, hardware, and connections for proper configuration and performance, and ensuring all equipment and cabling are installed for network reliability

    + Installation and maintenance of wireless systems.

    + Implementing LANs and WANs across the organization

    + Implementing, installing, upgrading, testing, and troubleshooting telecommunications services and equipment

    + Installing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links, and making recommendations for improvements

    + Creating and maintaining documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, and equipment service records

    + Through lifecycle, continuous improvement, and project initiatives, adopt new network technologies and tools to improve network efficiencies and system operations

     

    _Please note that this position operates on a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule._

     

    Who You Are...

     

    + Relevant and progressively responsible experience with the implementation and troubleshooting of firewall configurations and other network security measures

    + Relevant and progressively responsible experience with implementing and troubleshooting layer 2 & 3 network routing protocols

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications, computer networking, or a closely related field, or 2 to 4 years of progressive experience as a network technician

    + Knowledge of and experience with Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls is valued

    + Knowledge of and experience with Cisco ACI, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, and SolarWinds is valued

    + CCNA and other related certifications are valued
