    Description

    Lead development and implementation of systems including operating systems, utilities and other tools required to run the operations environment. Responsible for maintaining programming, documentation, development and project methodology standards. Lead testing and debugging of programs throughout the application development process. Lead design of testable and efficient code using best software development practices. Lead development and maintenance of software documentation. Oversee troubleshooting and existing software upgrades. Oversee code and design reviews to maintain code quality. Research and implement customer requirements for development projects and new site functionality. Oversee optimization of efficiency, availability and serviceability of the operating environment and computing platforms and networks. Lead collaboration of cross functional teams to identify software requirements and design solutions. Lead research and implementation of software releases or solutions for the operating software environment. Lead development and implementation of new technologies and alternative systems to enhance security, reliability or customer experience. Oversee updated scripts to assist with network management. Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff. Responsible for QA/QC process adherence. Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 10% for client and site visits.

    Qualifications

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Sciences, Management Information, Electronic Engineering, or a directly related field plus eight (8) years of experience in Data Engineering and IT systems. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Sciences, Management Information, Electronic Engineering, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience in Data Engineering and IT systems in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus eight (8) years of described experience.

    Must have five (5) years of experience in each of the following:

    + Git version control system.

    + Creating clean, modular, well-documented code with Python.

    + Data platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or Apache Spark.

    + Building big data processing and creating ETL Pipelines.

    + SQL.

     

    Primarily domestic travel up to 10% for client and site visits. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year.
