Vighter is recruiting multiple Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to provide patient care support at the Charleston VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC . The VA Center is rated as a complex medical facility, therefore provides care to Veterans locally and from surrounding states.

Principle Accountabilities:
+ Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
+ Support patient mobility and ambulation needs, including transferring patients and ensuring safety during activities.
+ Monitor and document patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
+ Assist in medical procedures as directed by the nursing team and collect specimens.
+ Observe patients' physical and emotional well-being, promptly reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in patient rooms and common areas.
Knowledge and Skills:
+ Strong understanding of basic patient care principles and techniques.
+ Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards.
+ Proficiency in monitoring and documenting vital signs.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
+ Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Education:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
Qualifications:
+ Must have and maintain one of the following certifications: Basic Life Support for health care providers through the American Heart Association®, CPR for the professional rescuer through the American Red Cross or the American Safety and Health Institute.
+ Certification: Active certification as a Nursing Assistant in Tennessee. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a MUST HAVE.
+ Experience: Must have prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or a hospital.
+ Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
Duty Hours / On-call Requirements
+ The expected duty hours for this position are 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. However, this key position supporting 24/7/365 operations which may require work to be conducted in the day, at night, on weekends, and during holidays.
+ This position has availability to work day, evening and night shifts. Availability during weekends and holidays is a possibility. Advanced notice will be provided for scheduling purposes.

+ Location: VAMC, Charleston, SC

Travel:
+ As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Generally, travel is limited to commute from residence to the worksite. Commute is non-compensatory. All official travel is government-funded.

Physical Requirements :
+ Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day.
+ Must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
+ Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
+ Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry up to 10 feet.
+ Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
+ Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
+ Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
+ Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.
+ Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
+ Must undergo urine drug screening (UDS).
