Position Summary : As the Senior QA automation engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for designing and creating automated tests to validate the functionality of applications. This position will be responsible for participating in the development of a testing automation strategy, developing automation test plans, creating automation test scripts that validate requirements and designs while ensuring existing functionality is not adversely impacted. This position is also expected to provide mentoring, training, and overall guidance to other resources on test automation best practices. This role is part of our Bank Technology function. This role will have a hybrid work schedule in our Boston office in accordance with the Bank’s Hybrid Work Program. More time will be expected in the office to support onboarding initially, up to 90 days.
Duties: Own and manage the test code infrastructure ensuring timely upgrades and patches and maintain compliance with security and architecture standards. Work closely with cross functional teams and stakeholders to understand project and product requirements and help identify opportunities for automation. Create and maintain and update test plans and test cases to execute them in accordance with the software development lifecycle in an agile environment. Execute automated tests to ensure the overall quality for the applications after new changes are introduced. Actively participate in agile ceremonies, providing accurate and timely feedback regarding both the process and the product. Ensure quality and consistency across different applications and environments. Help to triage and escalate issues based on their severity when needed. Log and document defects. Provide timely and precise information about the testing activities and their outcome including a test summary report and automation metrics.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst/Tester or related occupation or experience performing QA automation and testing using Selenium, SQL, and Postman or, alternatively, a master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst/Tester or related occupation or experience performing QA automation and testing using Selenium, SQL, and Postman. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise developing and integrating automation testing features using automated testing and scripting tools (e.g. Playwright, Cypress Selenium, Appium, Visual Studio or Code UI; Familiarity with programming script languages such as Java, Javascript, Typescript, or VBScript; Demonstrated expertise developing automation framework for financial services products and systems using CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipeline, Jenkins, or Buildkite; Experience with testing APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or IBM RIT; Experience with Performance and Load testing using tools such as JMeter, K6, or LoadRunner; Demonstrated expertise working with PowerShell, Java, SQL, BASH and JSON to develop, maintain and deploy test plans; Experience in development tools such as MS Visual Studio, Intellij Idea, or Eclipse; Manage and control source code using tools such as Azure Devops, Git, GitHub, or SVN; Experience writing/reading SQL queries and familiarity with navigating databases and tables; and Experience working in Agile development environments using tools such as Azure Devops or Jira.
