    About the Internship

     

    PATH Track Division is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of PATH’s system of track infrastructure, which includes the open area mainline track, tunnel tracks and the yard tracks. Its staff provide for the planning, design, and construction of railroad tracks including 3rd rail electrical components as well as maintain its own fleet of MOW equipment that is specifically designed to support work on the railroad

    Responsibilities:

    + Track Charts – Development and Update - CAD specific work where intern will learn valuable CAD design skills

    + Drawing Room Layout – Organization and Design – Hands-on reorganization of drawing filing system developing a basic understanding of contract drawing

    + Track Inspection – On Track Verification of Track components with Track Supervisor to update Track Charts

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Enrollment at a college/university through the duration of the internship

    + Engineering major, preferably in Civil, Track, or a related discipline

    Desired Qualifications

    + CAD design experience, preferably AutoCAD

    + Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Internship Details

    + The start date is expected to be in June

    + The internship will require 36.25 hours per week during the summer. If the internship continues beyond the summer, new hours will be discussed depending on your school schedule.

    + The format is expected to be in-person

    + Different internships will have different timelines for interviews

    Compensation & Benefits

    + The hourly rate range is $21.22 to $30.31 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
