Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman
Graphic Packaging is now offering the following incentives: $7000 sign on bonus, $5000 relocation package (50+ miles from location), 5 days unpaid continuous paid time off in first year.
MISSION / SUMMARY:
We currently have openings for an Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman candidate who has a passion for safety, is a self-starter, takes initiative, can communicate effectively, and can work independently in a manufacturing environment. This position performs Electrical & Instrumentation troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment. Specific skills necessary include calibration, troubleshooting, proper repair, precision installation, successful start-up, and reliability of all related facility equipment.
**JOB FUNCTIONS:** _Job functions include, but are not limited to the following._
+ Commitment to safety and quality
+ Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
+ Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
+ Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
+ Ability to learn through self-directed study and desire for advancement
+ Wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, earplugs, steel-toed boots, safety glasses at a minimum)
+ Operate or work in industrial conditions - may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
+ Excellent attendance record with flexibility to work rotating shifts & overtime
+ The ability to work independently and in a team environment
+ Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and climbing.
+ Ability to move wrists, hands, and/or fingers to turn valves and make adjustments to equipment.
+ Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
+ Maintains cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision.
+ Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
+ Minimum Journeyman skill level experience in instrumentation and industrial electrical systems.
+ Basic PLC knowledge: Allen Bradley
+ Ability to read schematics
+ Experience with a maximum of 4160-volt equipment
+ Knowledge of pneumatic valves
+ Instrumentation's: including differential, pressure, and flow transmitters
+ Troubleshooting skills desired
+ Knowledge of hydraulics a plus
+ Multi-craft willingness
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Leadership skills
+ Ability and desire to work in team environment
+ Experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls (transmitters, control valves, DCS equipment, programmable logic controllers, recorders, etc.)
+ Experience with three phase motors and controls, lighting, AC and DC drives is also required
+ Computer literacy in software applications for control systems and troubleshooting.
+ Pulp and Paper industry experience a definite plus.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
+ Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
+ Journeyman status or greater of electrical trade preferred.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
+ General schedule is a Monday through Friday 8-hour assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
+ Per CBA: ability to work multi schedules
+ Day shift
+ Unique 4 crew Dupont Schedule (allows 14 days off per month)
+ Must be able to work flexible and on-call scheduling.
+ Must be able to work rotating weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
+ Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
+ Routine Lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools, depth micrometers and precision measuring tools, welders, grinders, lathes, milling machines, etc.
+ Standing and sitting for extended periods and awkward or repetitive movements at times
+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs
+ Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
+ Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
