    Job Summary

    The Calibration Technician position will apply knowledge in the performance of the calibration function of a wide variety of equipment in different disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy. This individual is distinguished in demonstrated competence in independently calibrating test and measuring equipment which may fail to respond to normal diagnostic and corrective practice. This individual is distinguished by demonstrated competence in calibrating and servicing various high voltage test equipment such as; Power Supplies (manufactured by ETM, Colorado, and Polarity in particular). High voltage power supply test set ups will also include grid modulators, and vac ion pumps.

    Essential Functions

    + Calibrates, validates, and maintains laboratory equipment, including test equipment and production gauging

    + Calibrates inspection, measurement, and high voltage test equipment (IM&TE).

    + Develops diagnostic techniques and adapts equipment to accomplish necessary repairs and measurements; including at times unique measurements beyond the equipment’s routine usage

    + Possesses the ability to read drawings, schematics and equipment data sheets, and comprehend technical data

    + When necessary, documents procedures, methods and systems for performing measurements

    + Interprets test results, compares them to established specifications and control limits, and makes recommendations on the appropriateness of the results

    + Investigates and reports questionable or noncompliant test results

    + Assists equipment users in devising methods and procedures for obtaining measurements that may be required to operate the equipment / systems for unique or difficult measurements

    + Contacts equipment service providers to obtain technical information on calibration and repair methods and parts replacement information, and monitors expenditures and schedule compliance to commitments

    + Reviews data from outside calibration service providers to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance

    + Ensures that company metrology primary and secondary standards are properly maintained in accordance with NIST requirements

    + May operate computer software for instrument controllers / computers following established formats

    + Ensures that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained. Familiarity with RF and High Voltage applications is necessary

    **EDUCATION:** High School or general education. AA from accredited college or technical school in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is highly desirable, but not mandatory.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Experience in performing calibration on High Voltage TWT Test Stations, Vacuum Ion, Hi Pot, Control Solenoid, Benchtop and Rack Mount DC Power Supplies, and High DC Current Pulse Electro-Plating Power Supplies.

    + Knowledge of Precision Dimensional Measurement Instruments, Mechanical and Powered Torque Tooling required.

    + Should have a good understanding of RF Waveguide TRL (Thru-Reflect-Line) and Coaxial Connector SOLT (Short-Open-Load-Thru) Load System Component Calibrations using Filters, Directional Couplers, Attenuators, High-Power Terminations, and Standard Adapters, coupled with a strong understanding of cleaning & maintaining adapter integrity.

    + Must be able to perform general math and algebra functions

    + Should possess clear attention to detail and have good judgement

    + Must possess good written and oral, communication skills

    + Basic to advanced ability to troubleshoot, align and optimize precision equipment

    + Basic computer skills

    + Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel

    + Minimum of three years of calibration experience, some of which can be offset by formal metrology training

    + Working knowledge of ISO / IEC 17025 requirements

    + Knowledge of ANSI / NCSL Z-540 and ISO 9000 and ISO 9001:2015

    + Must have good interpersonal and customer service skills

    + Must be self-motivated, be able to work as a team player, and follow written procedures

    Salary Range:

    $50,500.00-$67,300.000
