What’s the Job?
This role shapes and executes the strategic vision for retail customers within IPG, fostering a customer-centric culture and aligning key functions to achieve growth targets. Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, advocating for retail customer needs, executing sales strategies, and tailoring methods for each customer. Additionally, the role involves establishing pricing strategies to minimize channel conflict and utilizing market research to developing a roadmap for sustainable growth.
Essential Duties
+ Key contributor to the development and execution of the strategic vision for Retail across the Interior Products Group (IPG)
+ Lead the execution of IPG’s retail sales strategy, aligning cross-functional teams—including Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Product Management—to achieve revenue and growth targets in partnership with the CertainTeed Retail Team
+ Coordinate with Retail Sales, Product Management, and Finance on pricing strategies, demand planning, and minimizing channel conflict to support profitable retail growth
+ Partner with Marketing and Product Management to develop compelling product positioning and launch strategies tailored to in-store, online, and special-order retail channels
+ Champion a customer-first culture by advocating for retail customer needs across all business functions
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, ensuring satisfaction and responsiveness to their evolving needs
+ Collaborate with the central retail sales team to tailor and implement customer-specific sales strategies
+ Lead cross-functional teams through the commercialization process for both existing and future retail partners
+ Support Retail Operations, Product Management, and National Accounts in executing Line Reviews and Business Reviews
+ Leverage market research and business metrics to identify trends, strengthen supply chain competitiveness, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership
+ Collaborate with Product Management and Retail Sales to develop a retail roadmap and innovation pipeline for sustainable channel growth
+ Mentor and develop talent within IPG to build retail sales capabilities
+ Train and coach customer service teams, conduct performance reviews, and support onboarding and new product launches
+ Drive continuous improvement by standardizing processes, optimizing SAP tools, and fostering a collaborative, agile team environment
+ Resolve service issues proactively, ensuring accurate and timely product delivery and inventory management
+ Contribute to audits, compliance training, and tactical planning to align customer service with broader business objectives
What do you bring?
Qualifications & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline required or equivalent related experience
+ 5–7 years of experience leading cross-functional teams within a large, matrixed organization
+ 5–7 years of experience interpreting data and leveraging insights to drive business performance
+ 5–7 years of experience managing complex projects
+ 5+ years of customer relationship management experience
+ 5+ years of experience working with national building material retail customers (e.g., Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards) – preferred
Skills & Competencies:
+ Strong project management skills
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
+ Proficient in gathering and analyzing data to inform business strategy and decision-making
+ Skilled in using software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Monday.com) to manage projects and communicate results
+ Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
+ Effective at multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
