    The Manager, Sourcing and Commodity Manager, Key Technologies, for Leica Biosystems is responsible for leading a team to handle the company's end to end sourcing operations to meet Global Sourcing savings targets while supporting the overall strategy of the Global Strategic Sourcing organization.

     

    This position reports to the Sr. Director Global Sourcing and is part of the Global Sourcing team located in Richmond, Illinois and will be an on-site role.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    + Support and guide a team of procurement professionals related to all aspects of procurement, ensuring inventory is maintained at optimal levels so company goals and customer requirements are met

    + Drive targeted, sustainable improvements in Supplier On-Time Delivery, Margin Expansion, Working Capital Turns, Inventory, and related KPI’s/objectives using lean tools, continuous improvement methodologies, facilitation skills, and change management processes

    + Manage relationships with relevant cross-functional leaders such as Product Management, Finance, Service, Sales, etc. to resolve parts supply or quality issues and to improve expense efficiency by optimizing process and supplier base

    + Provide guidance to team to support management of all supplier relationships related to new parts, supplier changes, yearly negotiations, pricing and payment terms, and other relevant topics

    + Manage the company's supply portfolio ensuring transparency and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, sustainable procurement practices, and company policies

    + Take a holistic view and test viability of options to guide a data-based functional strategy, considering items such as forecasts, availability of materials, and manufacturing capacity

    + Employ the necessary structure to effectively manage and anticipate the changing need for resources, easily flexing resource allocation in the face of changing circumstances.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of nine years’ experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of seven years’ experience

    + Minimum of two years' experience in a leadership position with a proven track record of successfully building, leading, and influencing global cross site, cross-functional teams

    + Demonstrated ability to develop, sell, and implement a global, organization-wide strategy, with demonstrated ability and success managing change, fostering an environment of trust, growth, and development

    + Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management, including excellent negotiation, influence, and contract management skills to encourage collaboration and positive outcomes

    + Strong communication, financial acumen, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders from all backgrounds and incorporate diverse feedback to interpret data and make fact-based decisions

    + Proven experience in developing and fostering relationships with suppliers, while driving lower costs, superior performance, and continuous improvement with demonstrated results

    + Proven work experience leading others to solve complex problems which bridge multiple products and/or projects or departments and identify innovative solutions

    Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

    + Ability to travel - must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, domestic and international. Overnight travel will be required.

    + Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

    + Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20 lbs

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    + Master’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or equivalent

    + Supply chain or operations experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices or Healthcare industries

    + Continuous improvement/Lean/DBS knowledge and demonstrated “hands on” experience implementing lean tools at Gemba – standard work, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, structured problem solving, 5S, Policy Deployment, Value Stream Management, Visual Management, etc.

     

    The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000.

     

    This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

     

    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
