    The Work

    Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a Navigation System Field Engineer\. Candidate will be an FBM TRIDENT submarine Navigation Systems Field Engineer Sr\. The job will require Extensive travel, including sea time aboard the USNS WATERS \(Consolidated Support Ship\-CSS\) and as necessary on SSBNs\. Typical at\-sea periods are 2\-4 weeks in duration and the test operations are 24/7 with weekend, night, and holiday work required; overtime is required\. Perform as an operator/maintainer for the Navigation Subsystems and all support equipment and Auxiliary Systems installed on the CSS\. Provide technical training and guidance to US/UK sailors during software/docware validations\. Provide technical support in the development of documentation and during the evaluation of pre\-deployed TRIDENT Navigation operational software\. Provide interface among several FBM contractors supporting Navigation subsystem operations and ship modification/integration activities\. Willing to relocate to domestic and international field engineering locations, in particular to support next generation US/UK SSBN new construction in Groton, CT and/or Barrow\-in\-Furness, UK\.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Who you are

    To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

    •Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience as a NAV Electronic Technician on an SSBN /combined education, with 2 years of professional experience

    •Ability to travel and support at\-sea missions up to 180 total days per year\.

    •Ability to deploy at\-sea on surface ships and SSBNs\.

    •Ability to work seven days a week, nights, weekends, and holidays\.

    •Ability to accomplish system test functions\.

    Desired Skills:

    Active Secret security clearance\.

     

    Familiarity with Strategic Systems Programs documentation including SSPINST and shipboard system integration\.

     

    Experience as a Navigation Electronics Technician \(NAV ETV\) on SSBN Strategic Weapons System \(SWS\)\.

     

    Experience with SWS Navigation System Level Test and Demonstration and Shakedown Operations \(DASO\)\.

     

    IPC/WHMA\-A\-620 certified specialist, instructor, or inspector or ability to obtain instructor certification\.

     

    SSP OD 51700 certification\.

     

    Ability to generate and process DD1149 and related DOD logistics forms\.

     

    **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

    **Clearance Level:** Secret

    **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

    **Schedule for this Position:** Non\- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
