Lowell General Hospital, part of Tufts Medicine, is seeking an experienced **Oncology Nurse Practitioner** to join our dedicated cancer care team full time. The NP will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to oncology patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role includes managing a dedicated patient caseload, collaborating closely with oncologists and other healthcare professionals, and providing personalized support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver comprehensive care to oncology patients in collaboration with the medical and nursing teams.
+ Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical exams.
+ Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
+ Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans in alignment with evidence-based protocols.
+ Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses, adjusting regimens as necessary.
+ Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care.
+ Participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and referrals to support services.
+ Document all patient encounters in the EMR with clarity and timeliness.
+ Serve as a clinical leader and mentor to other healthcare staff.
+ Stay current on oncology best practices and engage in continuous professional development.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Master’s degree in Nursing.
+ Current Massachusetts licensure as an **Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)** .
+ Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
+ Active **Basic Life Support (BLS)** certification.
Preferred:
+ Oncology specialty certification (e.g., AOCNP).
+ Prior experience in oncology or hematology care settings.

+ Advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Competency in managing both acute and chronic illness in oncology patients.
+ Passion for patient-centered care and education.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
+ Frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 35 lbs).
+ Manual dexterity for procedures and EMR documentation.
+ Exposure to infectious diseases and chemotherapy agents.
+ Ability to respond to auditory and visual cues in patient care.
