As the Charter Specialist, you will promote high-quality charter schools and authorizer excellence. You will conduct evaluations and approval processes, provide consultation, training and technical assistance, and develop resources for charter schools and authorizers.
This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering state. Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month.
Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years of professional experience with education program administration or management including consultative, program development, implementation and evaluation work
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree in education or related field and four (4) years of professional experience with education program administration or management including consultative, program development, implementation and evaluation work
Experience must include:
+ Comprehensive knowledge of the structure and function of charter schools and authorizers and their role in Minnesota's K-12 education system.
+ Broad knowledge of current Minnesota statutes, practices, and programs involving charter schools and authorizers so that service to the sector is appropriately designed and implemented.
+ Experience working with Minnesota Statute, Chapter 124E.
+ Project management skills to effectively coordinate and implement complex Charter Center initiatives with diverse clientele.
+ Technical and leadership skills necessary to assist authorizers in the development and implementation of effective programs and practices, including evaluation and assessment skills; knowledge of a range of authorizer materials and resources; and problem-solving skills to guide discussions, decision-making and development of standard practices for effective authorizing.
+ Excellent writing, speaking and negotiation skills to achieve organizational goals, to coach and advise customers, stakeholders, speak to individual and diverse groups, to resolve differences of opinion and present at other public forums.
+ Skill and ability to collect, interpret, and manage data to provide and support program improvement.
+ Ability and skill to manage competing and complex activities while meeting deadlines.
+ Skill and ability to use different software applications necessary to complete projects and tasks.
+ Customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Demonstrating organizational skills and attention to details.
+ Ability to develop and track schedules on multiple projects.
+ Ability to coordinate collaboration with internal agency teams to support the field.
+ Experience in researching, recognizing connections, and synthesizing findings to make recommendations and provide communications and resources.
