The Payroll Manager position exists to oversee the entire Payroll function including ensuring timely payment of direct compensation and compliance with various governmental and insurance agencies. This position also ensures compliance with GAAP, ECFA, Payroll Tax, and other payroll related legal requirements.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Ensures payroll is completed in a timely and accurate manner for employees and interns
+ Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HRIS for daily operations through tax filings and reports and initiating and testing/implementation of new processes
+ Responsible for the accuracy of reconciliations and payments to voluntary employee benefit programs (i.e., retirement plan, insurance, flexible spending accounts, etc.)
+ Main contact for annual Worker’s Compensation audit performed by independent audit firm
+ Interfaces with Finance and other work groups/departments on mutual issues and audits
+ Assists in the setup of new state taxation requirements that involve employees (i.e., payroll taxes, unemployment, worker’s compensation)
+ Handles new hire reporting to state and Social Security
+ Interfaces with officials from government, banking, insurance carriers, mutual fund custodians, and software providers on issues relating to tax, bank accounts, premium payments, 403(b) wage deferrals and contributions, and payroll processing
+ Oversees the maintenance of highly confidential/sensitive records pertaining to employee salary and benefits information
+ Manages the ministry’s Gift Card program
+ Through research, study, and networking, stays abreast of new developments within the field and with issues of compliance
+ Prepares various payroll, benefits and insurance reports for management including month-end and year-end reporting for Finance
+ Encourages employee contributions to continuous process improvements and efficiencies; implements process improvements as necessary
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
+ Instructs and monitors payroll functions performed by Compensation & Benefits staff

Knowledge/Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent payroll experience
+ 5-7 years specific payroll related work experience with 3 years at the supervisor/manager level
+ CPP Certification
+ Knowledge of payroll software programs Dayforce and Workday preferred

Salary Range: $76,956 to $88,398
