The Colleague Services (CS) organization within the Colleague Experience Group (also known as Human Resources) at American Express plays a critical role in providing the best-in-class services, capabilities, data, and insights that enable a great colleague experience. The organization builds and evolves essential products and services to enable the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) and the business. The CS organization manages the ecosystem of CEG products, processes, platforms, applications, third party partners, colleague insights and reporting, and colleague-related risk, compliance, and governance.
As the Oracle User Experience Lead within Colleague Services, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team of product managers and engineers that delivers best-in-class digital products to colleagues at American Express. In this role, you won’t just be improving software, you’ll be shaping how colleagues feel at work. From their first day to their next opportunity, you’ll help create seamless, meaningful, and empowering experiences that help every colleague be and deliver the best for themself and their team.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Oracle User Experience Lead to drive the end-to-end user experience of our Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. This role will play a critical role in shaping, evolving, and elevating how American Express colleagues interact with Oracle HCM technology across the full colleague lifecycle – from recruitment and onboarding to performance, career development, learning, and internal mobility. This role will guide the user experience strategy across the Oracle HCM platform, ensuring it is user-centered, intuitive, and aligned with business goals.
This role will work across teams to deeply understand colleague needs, identify friction points, and influence the design and delivery of solutions. This role will partner with key stakeholders across CEG and Technologies to ensure that our Oracle HCM experience is intuitive, cohesive, and empowering for colleagues. This role will serve as the voice of the colleague and a champion of user-centric design and data-driven decision making, ensuring that Oracle HCM tools are not only functional but exceptional in their usability and impact. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, user experience, and human-centered design.
How will you make an impact in this role?
+ Define and evolve the Oracle HCM user experience strategy, vision, roadmap, and success metrics, in alignment with enterprise priorities and colleague needs.
+ Partner with the cross-functional product team to shape and prioritize the roadmap for experience improvements.
+ Lead research to understand how colleagues interact with Oracle HCM and identify key pain points and opportunities.
+ Create and maintain journey maps, service blueprints, and experience principles to guide design decisions.
+ Champion user-centered design principles across Oracle HCM project and influence design decisions to improve usability and consistency.
+ Review and guide the design of interfaces, workflows, and content for clarity and ease of use.
+ Partner with the cross-functional product team to uncover insights from feedback channels, servicing tickets, and usage patterns.
+ Influence decisions through storytelling, data, and empathy, ensuring the colleague perspective is top of mind.
+ Act as a trusted advisor and coach non-UX partners and stakeholders on the value of human-centered design.
+ Partner with Oracle HQ account representatives to stay informed about upcoming features, influence product direction, and align experience roadmap priorities with Oracle HCM’s development pipeline.
Minimum Qualifications
+ 10 years of experience in employee experience, UX, or service design.
+ Proven track record in user research, journey mapping, user experience design, service design, and human-centered design methodologies.
+ Ability to navigate matrixed organizations, manage multiple priorities, and build alignment across diverse teams.
+ Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical language into human impact.
+ Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging user feedback, analytics, and usage metrics to drive decisions.
+ Familiarity with agile methodologies, value co-creation, change management, and enterprise-level digital transformation.
+ Expertise in Oracle HCM with experience across key modules (Core HR, Talent, Learning, Performance).
Qualifications
Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
