What will you do?

A day in the life of a color design manager at The North Face looks a little like this.

+ You lead, mentor and develop a smaller design team. You build leadership experience, ensuring design team deliverables, design DNA and vision alignment with key strategies and process, calendar gates, seasonal briefs, consumer focus and overarching business objectives

+ You work on medium to high complexity products, with a high level of aesthetic competence

+ You drive and inspire design ideas with a focus on craftsmanship and excellence. You are highly experienced at presenting design work to a large audience in a very compelling way. You give and receive objective constructive feedback

+ You have a highly advanced understanding for brand aesthetic, color theory, product/fashion design process in support of consumer and business needs

+ You lead seasonal design work with trend and market research, concept ideation and color palette and design application

+ You execute and create color palette work, mood boards, color decks and tools in collaboration with direction from the design director, with a defined scope

+ You have a passion for the details, learning and high participation in team reviews, workshops and events

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements within the design and product creation field.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

+ Min 5+ years of experience within the color, trend and product design fields (within apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories)

+ Experience doing trend research across performance and/or lifestyle products

+ Core understanding of color trends across performance and/or lifestyle products

+ Experience building a color palette and applying color to CADS and/or Croquis

+ Experience presenting design work at seasonal gates

+ Solid understanding of Concept ideation, color theory & storytelling

+ Seasoned in design process and working to key milestones and deadlines

+ Experience working in Adobe suite, Figma, and Microsoft

+ attention to detail

+ Cross functional and team collaboration

+ Flexibility and change mindset are key

+ A passion for Snow, Climb and Trail and lifestyle product

Hiring Range** **:

$109,728.00 USD - $137,160.00 USD annually

**Incentive Potential** : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
