What will you do?

A day in the life of a Supply Planning Analyst at JanSport looks a little like this.

As the Supply Planning Analyst, you will be responsible for procuring supply to meet service and inventory objectives. You will work to ensure on time deliveries from vendors and to customers. Key partners will include Vendors, Sourcing, Logistics, Demand Planning, Distribution and Customer Service. Additionally, you will understand capacity constraints and work to resolve issues proactively.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

+ Interface with Sourcing offices on capacity and production plans to ensure timely delivery of supply

+ Recommend and execute product purchases based upon demand inputs and other crucial supply planning criteria (current inventory levels, vendor capacity, minimums, and buy readiness). Issue purchase requisitions to Sourcing Teams.

+ Track conversion of purchase requisitions to vendor purchase orders.

+ Continually monitor demand needs and supply timing to identify issues and opportunities. Adjust supply timing as needed to improve service to customers and / or meet inventory objectives.

+ Collaborate with Demand Planning when capacity is constrained to forecast/prioritize demand based on supply availability.

+ Closely partner with cross functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of current month financial objective.

+ Support the S&OP Supply Review meeting. Highlight issues and opportunities to drive improved supply chain operational performance and achieve business objectives.

+ Participate in longer term view of supply availability taking into consideration demand needs by product type and any potential capacity or material constraints.

+ Participate in key projects to evolve supply chain capabilities.

+ Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to understand, assess, & problem solve by leveraging technical and analytical skills

+ Understanding data & being comfortable working with large data sets

+ Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment

+ Proven ability to multi-task effectively

+ Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, macro’s)

+ Understanding of reporting tools (Cognos/Brio)

+ Experience in SOP documentation

+ Self-starter with excellent follow through

+ Excellent attention to detail

+ **_Location requirement: New Jersey City, New Jersey. Hybrid schedule, minimum of 3 days in office._**

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

+ SAP System experience highly preferred

+ Experience in a Corporate Supply Chain environment; demand or supply planning desired.

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university (preferred concentration in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Management)

+ APICS or Six-Sigma Certifications are a plus

Hiring Range** **:

$65,120.00 USD - $81,400.00 USD annually

**Incentive Potential** : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
