What will you do?
A day in the life of a Manager, Supply and Demand Planning at JanSport looks a little like this.
On the demand side your responsibilities include overall ownership of all demand planning related activities with responsibility to drive consolidation in the Americas and through all markets. Primary areas of focus include development of the season demand picture beginning at the proto stage to GTM, developing the wholesale monthly financial ship forecast (ship-the-month) which supports the brand’s financial requirements and meets the customer service and inventory objectives. This role will play as the point person for the supply chain back through the business to drive transparent communication and alignment. The manager will work with the appropriate leaders of cross-functional teams to develop the brand’s forecasting strategic direction and ensure agreed processes and procedures are in place to support it. In addition, the role is responsible for the health of the three-year planning process and the owner of all the volumes across the brands.
On the supply side your responsibilities include managing a team responsible for procuring supply to meet service and inventory objectives. You and your team will work to ensure on time deliveries from vendors and to customers. You will also develop and lead the execution of the Inventory Plan. Key partners will include Demand Planning, Sourcing, Logistics, Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service.

+ Responsible for the development of the Americas forecast to meet sales, customer service, inventory, and profit goals.
+ Understands historical demand plus future growth strategies to build financial forecasts to exceed expectations and reach for higher goal with heavy cross functional connectivity to Finance, Supply Planning, Sales, Distribution and Customer Service.
+ Includes non-Americas regional input into global demand plan
+ Creates and leads the three-year strategic demand planning process including ownership of all volumes from a global perspective to support supply chain’s multi-horizon planning process.
+ Develops the strategic direction of the Americas demand planning group that will focus on meeting objectives and driving results.
+ Develop seasonal forecasting process in partnership with product merchandising to drive pre-season decision making.
+ Leads Packs Americas S&OP process focused on aligning the tactical execution for all business functions to support the company’s strategic plan. Drive consensus on a “one number” operating plan and establish accountability and performance measurements. Educate the leadership and management teams on the process. Establish trust in the process as a tool to manage the business and drive continuous improvement
+ Develops and drives execution of financial ship forecasts with heavy cross functional connectivity to Finance, Supply Planning, Sales, Distribution and Customer Service
+ Partners closely with Supply Planning, Merchandising and Sales to manage risk and production capacity challenges within the buy cycle
+ Ensures procedures and processes are executed to meet top-end goals and objectives
+ Partners with other departments to continuously understand processes and procedures within departments and coordinate desired results.
+ Provides leadership for all systems development relating to demand planning and forecasting
+ Lead the creation of the global buy calendar and process.
+ Partner with regional Operations teams to consolidate buys while supporting all global demand needs.
+ Manage team that will recommend and execute buys based upon demand inputs and other crucial supply planning criteria (current inventory levels, vendor & supplier capacity, minimums, and buy readiness).
+ Partner with Sourcing and vendors to build the production plan. Maintain relationships with key vendors.
+ Continually monitor demand needs and supply timing to identify issues and opportunities. Adjust supply timing as needed to improve service to customers and/or meet inventory objectives. Own communication of key issues and action plans with key stakeholders.
+ Manage the approvals and reporting for air requests.
+ Closely partner with cross functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of current month financial objectives.
+ Own the Supply Review of the S&OP process. Track and report key KPI’s that measure performance. Confirm supply support for the demand plan and develop action plans to bridge gaps. Identify impact on Product, Demand and Finance when issues arise.
+ Build annual Inventory Plan to support seasonal startups, monthly revenue flow and service goals. Proactively drive and manage inventory dollars and days by region and channel to ensure a healthy mix inventory. Implement and document inventory planning processes to insure appropriate controls.
+ Help drive longer term view of supply availability taking into consideration demand needs by product type and any potential capacity or material constraints.
+ Lead key projects to evolve supply chain capabilities in support of the brand’s strategic initiatives.
+ Lead, coach, and develop team members.

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements.

+ Ability to manage a diverse group of individuals, lead change, and inspire work toward a common goal.
+ Ability to determine best practices, implement them, and document accordingly.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage/lead multiple tasks/projects, priorities, and deadlines
+ Proven ability to leverage technology and systems to drive efficient and effective reporting and processes.
+ Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, macro’s). Experience in other analytical tools a plus.
+ Experience working in a multi-channel environment - both wholesale and direct to consumer channels
+ Experience building, coaching, and managing high performing demand planning teams
+ Strong end to end knowledge of supply chains
+ Experience in business process reengineering and program / project management
+ **_Location requirement: Jersey City, New Jersey. Hybrid schedule, minimum of 3 days in office._**
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
+ Bachelor’s degree (preferred concentration in Engineering, Mathematics or Business)
+ Working knowledge of demand planning tools. Experience with Logility and SAP ERP a plus.
+ APICS or Six-Sigma Certifications are a plus

Hiring Range** **:
$110,000.00 USD - $137,500.00 USD annually
**Incentive Potential** : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
