    Overview

     

    Bowhead seeks a highly skilled Technical Writer to develop clear, concise, and compliant documentation for Federal Government contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience working with government agencies, understanding procurement regulations, and producing high-quality technical content that meets federal requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, and edit technical documents, including proposals, reports, manuals, and compliance documentation.

    • Ensure adherence to federal regulations, procurement guidelines, and contract requirements.

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and compliance officers to gather technical information.

    • Translate complex data into accessible content for diverse audiences, including government officials and contractors.

    • Maintain document version control and ensure consistency across multiple projects.

    • Research and incorporate regulatory changes, ensuring documents remain compliant with federal standards.

    • Support proposal development, responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and other solicitation documents.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or Technical Communication.

    • Minimum of six (6) years of experience.

    • Experience in writing documentation for government contracts, procurement, or regulatory compliance.

    • Experience working with the DoD and other federal agencies.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and documentation management tools.

    • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), or other relevant guidelines.

    • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of contract writing software and government databases.

    • Prior experience with technical proposal writing in a government contracting environment.

     

    There is currently no clearance requirement for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

    • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

    • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
