**Objective of Position** :
The Credit Risk Officer is responsible for providing analysis and evaluation in order to reduce credit risk for the bank. This role will assist with the development of a comprehensive risk management approach for the loan/credit product portfolio through modeling, analysis, and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Optimizes profitability of the credit portfolio through the design, implementation and monitoring of effective risk strategies and policies across origination and account management activities.
+ Ensures risk mitigation strategies are in place to maintain overall portfolio quality and to manage the approval process for targets/limits.
+ Reviews credit testing analysis and assessment outcomes and recommend criticality ratings for identified issues in the asset quality and credit process.
+ Oversees the analysis of portfolio trends at a macro level, identifying emerging credit risk levels/profiles and symptoms of process control breakdowns.
+ Enhances portfolio insight and management decision-making using analytics and tools to measure the current health of the portfolio and to monitor for early detection of opportunities, trends and anomalies.
+ Reviews credit analysis, which will include analysis of financial statements, ratios, cash flow, and loan decisions, to ensure credits are adequately underwritten, properly graded, and appropriately priced.
+ Validates and ensures the consistent application of the Bank’s risk rating policy.
+ Maintains the methodology and procedures for Allowance Credit Losses including the reporting of provision for credit losses and quarterly analysis, including Q-factor adjustments.
+ Assists with the development and implementation of the regular loan portfolio stress testing.
+ Supports the development and maintenance of the data infrastructure as it relates to portfolio management and reporting.
+ Provides clear, concise and insightful reporting to senior management on all relevant matters relating to portfolio quality.
+ Recommends and supports changes to the decisioning infrastructure that enhance our capability for rapid deployment of sophisticated strategies.
+ All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree.
+ 5+ years of credit risk management experience with a financial institution.
+ 5+ years of experience in credit administration, loan origination, and/or credit analysis as a commercial lender, regulator or credit review officer.
+ Strong credit analysis, financial analysis, and knowledge of underwriting is a plus.
+ Ability to analyze portfolio trends at a macro level, identifying emerging credit risk levels/profiles and symptoms of process control breakdowns.
+ Knowledge of credit processes and systematic controls.
+ Knowledge of commercial loan origination systems such as nCino, Abrigo, and/or Credit Edge.
+ Thorough understanding of credit review/testing techniques, including control procedures and principles.
+ Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages is a plus.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
+ Knowledge of industry credit processes, lending policies, and current financial environments.
+ Be self-motivated and an effective time and project manager with a strong attention to detail.
+ Have strong change management, organizational and planning capabilities.
+ Ability to identify, understand and define problems, evaluate alternatives, set priorities, manage projects and implement high quality solutions.
+ Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to directly manage and communicate multiple projects and priorities depending on organizational needs and strategies.
+ Possess strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.

This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation & Benefits:
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
The salary range for this position is between $86,000 to $107,000.
In addition, Byline provides benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, paid time off and much more! Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
