**Minimum qualifications:** Candidates must have an ASA or FSA designation, a bachelor’s degree, and at least seven years of relevant actuarial experience. Management experience, including hiring, training, and performance oversight, is also required.
**Position Purpose:** Conduct analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. Provide expertise and technical support in matters related to the successful and financially sounds operations of the company’s health plan businesses
In this Director, Actuarial Services role, you will:
+ Work on new Medicaid forecasting team, and apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes.
+ Analyze base data and collaborate with financial teams to align on inputs and assumptions like trend, program changes, population changes to forecast medical expense at a detailed level
+ Review health plan experience and identify trend
+ Perform analytics on actual results compared to forecast and identify drivers of variance
+ Present results to Senior Management and other stakeholders
Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
+ 7+ years of actuarial experience
+ Previous management experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff required.
**License/Certification:** Fellow or Associate in Society of Actuaries (or equivalent international certification); Member of American Academy of Actuaries (or equivalent international membership).
Preferred:
+ Strong project management skills
+ Proven management experience
+ Experience with forecasting and/or Medicaid (highly preferred)
+ Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-actuarial stakeholders
*Applicants for this job have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. The ideal schedule is CST time zone. *
Pay Range: $182,100.00 - $345,600.00 per year
