    Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 7 pm - 5:30 am

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly organized and safety-focusedTransportation Operations Supervisorto support the transportation operations of our fulfillment center and an off-site trailer storage and routing facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and efficient movement of trailers between the storage yard and the fulfillment center, with a strong emphasis on operational quality, safety, and communication.

     

    This position is ideal for a logistics professional with experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments like those managed by 3PL’s and drayage operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Daily Transportation Operations: Supervise day-to-day trailer movement between the off-site location and the fulfillment center, ensuring timely routing and minimal delays.

    + Staff Supervision: Lead, schedule, and manage a team of yard drivers, spotters, and support personnel.

    + Communication: Serve as the liaison between the fulfillment center, transportation vendors, and site operations to ensure real-time communication and issue resolution.

    + Quality & Accuracy: Ensure trailer assignments and movements are accurate, tracked, and aligned with operational requirements.

    + Safety Compliance: Enforce and uphold all DOT, OSHA, and company-specific safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

    + Trailer Management: Oversee yard management systems (YMS) to monitor trailer locations, statuses, and inventory counts.

    + Performance Metrics: Track and report on KPIs including trailer turnaround time, detention, yard utilization, and on-time arrivals/departures.

    + Problem Solving: Respond promptly to delays, accidents, or equipment issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    + Vendor Coordination: Work closely with third-party carriers, maintenance providers, and logistics partners to ensure seamless operations.

    Required Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.

    + 3+ years of transportation or yard operations experience in a distribution, fulfillment, logistics, or drayage environment.

    + Prior supervisory or lead experience in a transportation or warehouse setting.

    + Working knowledge of DOT regulations and trailer yard safety protocols.

    + Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and yard management systems (YMS).

    + Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across department

    + Experience working with major logistics and/or drayage companies

    + Experience implementing Lean or Six Sigma practices in logistics operations.

    + Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if required by operations.

    + This position could be based at an off-site trailer yard with frequent walking, standing, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

    Travel:

    + This position is not remote.

    + Travel is not required.
