The Lucas Family Brain and Spine Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent will become a destination Center of Excellence for all complex neurosurgical and spine care. This hospital will enhance access, quality, innovation, and patient experience with high-quality, coordinated neurological and spine care

This new facility will consist of 9 OR's, PACU, Medsurg, and ICU as well as its own sterile processing department and imaging suite.

Responsibilities

Serve as a professional resource to patients, physicians, and patient families as well as community organizations/providers and schools to address issues and concerns relating to patient care services.

Responsibilities:

+ Establish contact and rapport with patients and their families, and provide periodic updates to family members.

+ Intermediate between the patient, family members, physicians, community organizations, schools and care providers, as needed to facilitate communication and resolve issues.

+ Establish follow up services, ensuring that all items on the patient care plan have been completed; collaborate with the next level of care including arranging for appointments as indicated.

+ Address customer service issues with proper follow-up or referral, use service recovery resources, and communicate issues and resolution to appropriate level.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

+ **Must have current hospital experience**

This position entails working out of the main waiting area for surgeries, communicating frequently with family or friends of the patient, provide periodic updates to the family of any progress throughout the procedure. The liasion will be the patient's contact while they are in surgery and throughout recovery to help with any needs or concerns and ensures the family gets a short visit when possible while the patient is still in recovery. You will be the glue of the whole surgical team and the mouthpiece for the team while they are busy in surgery.
