Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary:

?HCA Healthcare is seeking a visionary and strategic leader for the role of Vice President, Data Products. This executive will lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of data products across the entire organization. Serving as a key member of the Data Office leadership team, the VP will be responsible for establishing and executing a comprehensive data product strategy that supports HCA's mission of improving care and operational outcomes through data-driven innovation.

In this role, the VP, Data Products will oversee a team of Data Product Owners and collaborate extensively with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners to ensure that HCA's data products meet the complex and evolving needs of the company. These products, built on the HCA Intelligence Net (HIN), will be foundational to enabling enterprise-wide initiatives, including clinical innovation, operational excellence, and advanced analytics. The VP will champion a product-driven mindset and ensure data products deliver measurable value across the organization.

DT&I's mission is to bring innovative technology solutions to the clinical and administrative frontline of HCA, re-shaping healthcare processes to improve patient outcomes, empower clinicians with insights, and drive greater efficiency for all. In this role you will be responsible for innovating our care team processes, making them more intelligent, impactful, and efficient. In so doing, you will help our clinicians provide the best care possible and have a better experience in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

?Strategic Leadership and Vision

+ Define and execute a data product strategy that aligns with HCA Healthcare's long-term goals and supports the organization's transformation into a data-driven enterprise.

+ Lead efforts to identify high-impact opportunities for data product innovation across clinical, operational, and business domains.

+ Partner with the Chief Data Officer and other senior leaders to prioritize initiatives that drive strategic growth and deliver ROI.

Enterprise-Wide Product Design

+ Oversee the design and implementation of data products that serve as the foundation for advanced analytics, machine learning, and operational decision-making across the company.

+ Lead the team in developing scalable, reusable, and interoperable data products that meet enterprise requirements and adhere to best practices in data architecture and governance.

+ Collaborate with data architects, platform engineers, and business leaders to design data products that are both technically sound and aligned with business priorities.

Team Leadership and Development

+ Partner with the Information Protection team to define and implement enterprise data security and access policies that align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

+ Collaborate with business leaders and technical teams to enforce access permissions, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to manage sensitive data.

+ Monitor compliance with security policies and standards, identifying gaps and working with stakeholders to implement necessary improvements.

+ Establish and operationalize processes for approving data access requests and resolving escalations related to access and data sharing agreements.

Data Quality and Catalog Oversight

+ Build and lead a high-performing team of Data Product Owners, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

+ Mentor and develop leaders within the Data Products team, creating opportunities for professional growth and ensuring the team is equipped to meet future challenges.

Data Product Lifecycle Management

+ Ensure all data products on HIN are managed through a full product development lifecycle, including discovery, design, development, deployment, and iterative enhancement.

+ Establish and maintain processes for high-quality documentation, effective testing, and lifecycle management of data products to ensure reliability and scalability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

+ Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify and prioritize high-value use cases, ensuring data products align with HCA's mission and operational objectives.

+ Act as a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders across HCA, ensuring data products meet the needs of diverse business units and use cases.

+ Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and effective prioritization of initiatives.

Governance and Compliance

+ Ensure all data products comply with HCA's data governance framework, regulatory requirements, and security standards.

+ Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the performance, adoption, and business impact of data products.

+ Implement processes for continuous monitoring, improvement, and optimization of data products to maximize value delivery.

Performance Measurement and Optimization

+ Define, track, and report on KPIs and other performance metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of data products across HCA.

+ Implement processes for continuous monitoring and feedback, leveraging insights to enhance data products over time and improve user satisfaction.

Innovation and Future Readiness

+ Stay ahead of industry trends in data product management, cloud technology, and AI to ensure HCA's data strategy remains cutting-edge.

+ Drive the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to enhance the scalability and impact of data products.

+ Cultivate relationships with external partners and vendors to bring innovative solutions to HCA Healthcare.

Education and Certifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field - Required

+ Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field - Preferred

+ 5+ years of experience in a leadership role - Required

+ 15+ years of experience in data management, data products or analytics - Preferred
