Employee Health/Workers’ Compensation Function:

Provides health education and guidance for all hospital employees through a comprehensive employee health and workers’ compensation program that includes initial first aid, care and assistance to employees who become ill or injured at work. Administers immunizations and inoculations to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and meets current regulatory standards. Monitors employee health to protect patients and employees, prevent accidents and illnesses. Prepares and conducts ongoing health inservices. Ensures the timely processing of employee workers’ compensation claims; evaluates occurrence reports to determine accuracy and completeness. Assesses and ensures adequate investigation process. Administers the Transitional Duty Program. Responsible for maintaining and reporting the OSHA 300 and 300A log.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

• 4 year Bachelors Degree in nursing, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, public health or other health-related field

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

• Current state professional license as required by profession or certification/registration as required by field of practice.

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) desirable (or certify when eligible)

• BLS required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

• 1 to 3 years acute care experience preferred; active participation in facility clinical improvement activities Previous employee health, medical office, and/or infection control experience preferred

We offer all private rooms and the first local Certified Orthopedic Joint Replacement Program and Certified Spine Surgery Program. Our hospital has a state-of-the-art surgery center. Our services include emergency services, a critical care unit, and a Certified Diabetes Education Program. We offer a variety of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. We have the only local hospital-based Wellness Center. Our Wellness Center offers a variety of health-related seminars throughout the year. We are committed to patient-centered care.
