    The Opportunity

     

    As a Project Director, you will lead large project teams through complex health analytic engagements, serving both State and Federal Health clients, specializing in data governance, strategy, and visualization. You will help to operationalize and execute Medicaid policy and IT transformation projects. You will oversee interdisciplinary teams focused on both data integration and policy analysis related to Medicaid and CHIP. To be successful you must be exceptionally skilled at fostering relationships and translating client needs into data-driven solutions. You will also support the development of new business in the Abt’s Medicaid work.

    Core Responsibilities

    + _Project Management:_

    + Oversee the full project lifecycle, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.

    + Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with CMS and HIPAA requirements.

    + Manage a consortium of team members and partners, including managing subcontractor relationships, to ensure delivery excellence.

    + _Stakeholder Engagement:_

    + Fosters relationships between Medicaid program leadership, IT departments, data analytics teams, and other external vendors or consultants.

    + Work with state and federal agencies, including CMS, to ensure reporting and data usage aligns with current regulations.

    + _Team Leadership:_

    + Lead and mentor project staff, including data analysts, project managers, and policy experts.

    + Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    + _Strategic Leadership:_

    + Lead delivery teams with a focus on Medicaid and CHIP engagements for both state and federal health clients

    + Support the development of strategic plans and frameworks like data use strategies aligned with state and federal healthcare priorities.

    + Develop technology solutions based on client needs. Lead the design and development of overarching solutions architectures focused on intelligent automation tooling and business intelligence, engaging with other CMS contractors as necessary.

    + Translate client needs into data and digital solutions.

    + Support business development activities by leveraging your delivery knowledge and experience.

    + _Compliance & Reporting:_

    + Monitor compliance with federal and state Medicaid data mandates and reporting requirements (e.g., T-MSIS, MACBIS).

    + Produce reports and dashboards for executive leadership and policymakers.

    What We Value

    + Bachelors +15 years of experience, or Masters +12 years of experience, or PhD + 10 years of experience

    + 7+ years of experience managing large-scale data or IT projects, with at least 5 years in Medicaid or public health programs.

    + Proven data and technology expertise, particularly with understanding CMS’s Medicaid and CHIP programs, systems, and data (e.g., T-MSIS, MDP), and regulatory requirements.

    + Proven experience in client management activities with a track record of delighting customers, including leading meetings and understanding client needs in support of strategic planning and project delivery.

    + Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP-certified preferred).

    + Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

    + Experience with federal healthcare data standards and tools (e.g., FHIR, CMS IT systems).

    + Familiarity with data warehousing, analytics platforms, and business intelligence tools.

    This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $140,000 to $220,000 and may vary down by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.  Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
